Route 9 to Speed Area Travel
Hello and welcome to the Web site devoted specifically to the improvement of West Virginia Route 9 in the Eastern Panhandle! The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) presents these Web pages so you may learn more about the entire project and have a means of getting answers to any questions you may have.

The material you will find here is designed to make certain all the people of the Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan County areas have ample opportunity to learn about the various elements of the multi-faceted project and understand how the pieces fit together.

Please click on the various "sections" on this home page to see material on the purpose of the Route 9 Project, statistics on the current congestion and safety issues and the present state of planning. Separate sections of the Web site will discuss the plans for a four-lane Route 9 from Martinsburg to Charles Town and from Charles Town to the Virginia state line. Other sections will show you the Rt. 9 section from Martinsburg to Berkeley Springs and the Martinsburg Bypass.
