WVDOH Addressed Preferred Alignment at Public Meeting
Approximately 50 people attended the public meeting held by the West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) November 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Wright Denny Intermediate School in Charles Town to discuss the Charles Town to Virginia line section of Route 9.
Dave Clevenger, an engineer with the Division of Highways, explained that the WVDOH was not required to hold this public meeting. "The Federal Highways Administration recently signed the Final Environmental Impact Statement on this section of Route 9. We organized this meeting to give the public another opportunity to sit down and talk about their concerns with us, to answer their questions and take their comments."
