| Members of the Jefferson County Commission speak with State Highway Engineer Joe Deneault about Route 9. |
As part of the West Virginia Division of Highway's (WVDOH) public involvement initiative, State Highway Engineer Joe Deneault visited with members of the media and civic and governmental organizations in the eastern panhandle to address questions in regard to current and proposed highway projects.
Deneault embarked on a week-long trip, beginning March 6, speaking to the county commissions of Morgan, Berkeley and Jefferson Counties, in an effort to keep the public informed.
"In the past, we have found that citizens sometimes felt uninformed about highway projects that affect them. The West Virginia Division of Highways wants affected citizens to be educated about these projects so we can consider their concerns and use their advice to develop purposeful and logical plans for road improvements," he said.
